BOOKS AND BOTS

Studies show that exposure to STEM at an early age helps young children develop curiosity, problem solve, and reason.

Since 2014, Team 1732’s innovative Book & Bots program has been introducing robots to some of our youngest community members using techniques already very familiar to them - stories.

During the Books & Bots program, Team 1732 members read aloud the team's bi-lingual children’s book, “Robot McGuire: From Meek to Magnificent”, and other fun robot-themed children’s books. The readings are followed by a live demonstration of a robot the team designed and built along with a chance for youth to operate the robot themselves.

Every year, Team 1732 brings its Books & Bots program into community schools, libraries, homeless shelters, scout troops, and other community venues throughout the greater Milwaukee area to promote STEM to children as young as age 3. Through programs like Books & Bots, the Team hopes to start building our next generation of STEM innovators and leaders.
